Stanley "Stan" D. Medlin

Stanley “Stan” Duncan Medlin, also called “Chief, by many, 66, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024. He was born October 11, 1957 in Muskogee to Otto Bailey and Elizabeth “Beth” Faye (Webb) Medlin. He attended Warner Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1975. Stan married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Natalie Conchita Foreman on May 27, 1978. They shared more than 50 years of life, marriage, and making memories together. He worked in the construction industry from 1975 to 1978. In 1978, he began a career with Union Pacific Railroad as a brakeman and conductor. He retired in 1999 due to injury. He also owned a tire store in Texas from 1994 to 1998. He was a road manager for Mel McDaniel for a couple of years. He traveled with the band to the Grand Ole Opry many times and enjoyed meeting many of the singers. Stan loved to fish for both bass and crappie. He spent many years in a boat on lakes and rivers fishing with his buddies. He loved to watch his children play sports and music. He loved to have fun and hang out with his friends at Dirty Creek Taxidermy. He will be remembered as a jokester and being the life of the party. He will be dearly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Beth Medlin; in-laws, Gene and Bug Foreman; brother-in-law, Ford Dillon; and great nephew, Max Medlin. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Natalie; daughter, Lacey Medlin; son, Cody Medlin, all of the home; sister-in-law, Janice Dillon; nephews, Ford Dillon Jr and wife Ann, Steven Dillon; niece, Kristy Herriman and husband Bobby; great nieces, Carlissa Mullins and Brooklyn Herriman; great nephews, Trey Dillon and Blaize Herriman; close family member, Pebble Herriman. He is also survived by his brothers, Shelby Medlin and wife Nancy and their children, Levi and Leesa, Steve Medlin and wife Judy and their children, Jennifer and Ashley; along with many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM, Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Stan’s life will be celebrated at 2PM, Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Keefeton Free Will Baptist Church with Mr. Wayne Herriman officiating. Interment will follow at McLain Cemetery with Cody Medlin, Storey Merrill, Brently Gorman, Ryan Watson, Blaize Herriman, and Jason Edgar serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Mullins, Brent Gorman, Johnny Mac Barnes, J. B. Herriman, Howard Godfrey, and John Smith.
