Stephen George Moore

Stephen “Steve” George Moore, 68, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024. He was born August 22, 1955 in Bombay, India to Luther Moore and Betty Jo Risenhoover. He was blessed to have spent his childhood living in countries including his birthplace, as well as Sumatra, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thessaloniki, Greece. He later moved to Muskogee and graduated from Muskogee High School with the class of 1973. Steve later attended Wentworth Military Academy and graduated in 1983. He furthered his education at Northeastern State University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1993. Steve married Phyllis Jo White on December 29, 1995 in Muskogee. They shared many years of life, marriage, and memories together until her passing. He worked as a car salesman as well as construction for Fluor Corporation. In 1994, he became the owner of U. S. Pawn and continued to own until his passing. He made many longtime friendships and acquaintances throughout the years at his pawn shop. Steve enjoyed traveling with his wife and family to Hawaii, watching his stepson play baseball, helping his family with various home construction projects, and walking his beloved dog, Brady. He also enjoyed visiting with his customers and friends at the pawn shop, taking care of his yard, and driving his red corvette. He loved his family dearly and his passing will leave a void in the lives of all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Betty Moore; wife, Phyllis Moore; brother, Michael Moore; and his beloved dog, Brady. Steve is survived by stepson, Craig George and wife Madison of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; stepson, Chase George of Tulsa; brother, John Patrick Moore and wife Debbie; daughter, Ashley Karr of Jenks, Oklahoma; nephews, Matt Moore and Nick Moore of Muskogee; niece, Mallory Martinez of Hendersonville, Tennessee; along with other family members and friends. Steve will be instate for public viewing 9am-8pm, Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with the family being present from 5-7pm to greet friends.
