Steve A Strickland

On the 7th day of the 7th month, 1995, the Lord blessed the Strickland family with a son, Steve Austin Strickland. He accepted Christ at a young age and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Steve attended Muskogee public schools with concurrent enrollment at Indian Capital VoTech and Connors State College graduating with the Muskogee High School class of 2013. He had furthered his education at Oklahoma State University working toward a major in Mechanical Engineering. Steve went through this life with a wonder and passion that made it a joy for those of us that got to share in the journey. He was active in so many different areas; from youth service projects, putting flags out at the National Cemetery, wrestling, baseball, football, skateboarding, fishing, hunting, church plays, scouting activities, weeks at Falls Creek, four wheeling, riding motorcycles, paintball, hanging out with friends, riding horses, chasing chickens, camping, FFA, clowning with family, going to football games and plays in Stillwater, family vacations, crafting and building things, napping, wheeling and dealing, restoring vehicles, playing with Chili and Rascal, running, and reading deep books. Your tender heart, intellect, tenacity, work ethic, humor, and smile makes it impossible to think about you without smiling ourselves. We will miss you..until we meet again. Steve is survived by his parents, Audie and Sandy White Strickland of Muskogee; sisters, Haley Strickland and fiance’, Robert Estep II of Louisiana; Abbey Strickland of Tulsa; grandparents, Marjorie and Don Younger of Muskogee; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill D. Strickland; grandparents, Horace “H.J.” and Helen White. “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.” Proverbs 22:1 The family requests memorials be made to protectthebrain.org., changedirection.org., Gideon International, or the church or charity of your choice. Memorial services celebrating Steve’s life will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Southeast Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Morgan officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Cesar Sanchez, Matt Blair, Peter Lee, Shane Strickland, Sebastian Sutton, Robert Estep II, Dustin Dailey, M.D. Gibson, and John Dum. Fellowship to follow at Fairview Baptist Church. A memorial marker will be placed at Greenhill Cemetery.
