Terry Sallee

George “Terry” Sallee Jr., 70, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021. He was born September 21, 1950 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to George Terry Sallee Sr. and Ruby Catherine (Thompson) Sallee. He attended Muskogee Public Schools and graduated from Muskogee Central High School with the class of 1969. He worked for the City of Muskogee for many years and retired in 2020. He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Sooner State Abate Motorcycle Rights Organization, and Eastern Oklahoma Toys for Tots. Terry will be remembered for the daily phone calls to his son Shannon to find out what he was eating, if it was any good, what he was watching on TV, and what channel it was on! He will be remembered for his love of time spent with grandkids and all you can eat buffets at Golden Corral or having a #5 at Hamlins. He enjoyed holiday dinners with his family at Ashley’s house where he would argue with his sister Shelia and make sure he was first in line for food. His love for his girlfriend Twila and reacquainting with her and her family brought him so much happiness. He would get so excited to attend rodeo events with Trapper and friends in Muskogee. Top it off with his love of riding motorcycles, watching people fish at the Ft Gibson Dam, people watching at the Renaissance Fair, and drinking coffee every morning at McDonalds and you’ll have a small glimpse into the man that everyone loved. Terry will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, George Sallee; mother, Ruby Sallee; sister, Shelia Mae Trussell; daughter, Teri Lynn Sallee; and niece, Tina McDaniel. Terry is survived by his son, Shannon Sallee and wife Jill of Tulsa; grandkids, Tanner Sallee, Shane Sallee, both of Muskogee, Sydni Sallee of Tulsa, and Nikki Davis of Muskogee; niece, Ashley Henry and husband Mike of Muskogee; along with lots of extended family and friends. A memorial service celebrating Terry’s life will be at 11AM, Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family has created a fund benefiting the Broken Arrow Chapter of Toys for Tots in Terry’s name. He enjoyed being a part of their annual motorcycle rides.
