Verben Travis "Red" Williams, 74, born to Harvey and Rachel Williams on Sept 26th, 1949 in Tahlequah, OK, passed away on August 17th, 2024 in Tulsa, OK. Red graduated from Muskogee High School in 1967, where he met and eventually married his high school sweetheart, Trudy Brewer Williams, on December 5th, 1967. Red worked as a Machine operator at Acme Engineering in Muskogee, OK for 33 years. After retirement he drove a school bus for vo-tech, ICTC. Red was an avid OU fan. He loved gardening and took pride in raising his kids and farm animals. Red made sure his kids were able to play sports, and even coached all of them at some point in their childhood. He also taught them how to raise and care for the farm animals, but more importantly how to take care of each other. One of Red's biggest prides was watching his grandkids and great grandkids play in the front yard and sharing all of his animal crackers and candy with them. Red and Trudy have 3 children, Angelina Bullard and the late Danny Bullard, Verben “Travis” Williams Jr. and Tracy Marie Mayhall (Donnie). They also have 6 grandchildren, Travis “TJ” Williams, J.R. Bullard, Aaren Murphy, Cole (Savannah) Johnson, Michael “Levi” (Makayla) Williams and Dale Williams. They have 8 Great Grandchildren, Layla Aareanna Maree Murphy, Jace Verben Lee Williams, Lucaine Austin Wynter Murphy, Tucker Wayne Johnson, Liam Harvey Ray Murphy, Nehimiah Ray Johnson, Lily Aylin Grace Johnson, Lincoln Henry Johnson. Red's siblings include, Harvey “Junior” (Janet) Williams, Frank (Marci) Williams, The late Ted Williams, surviving spouse Cathy Williams, Ray (Nancy) Williams, Jaiwana (Jerry) Quintana, The late Sally Bowline and surviving spouse Virgil Bowline. Red's in-laws include, The late Floyd and Grace Brewer, The late Jack Fletcher, surviving spouse Rebecca Fletcher, Floyd “Sonny” Brewer, The late Linda Woodall, surviving spouse Bobby Woodall, Jerry (Sandy) Brewer and Archie Brewer. Red also has one remaining uncle: Tom Martin. He is known as Uncle Red to, Shannon, Peggy, Melodye, Cheri, Dale, Allyson, Korrie, Lindsey, Bryan, Kenny, Lara, Alisa, Bobby Jr., Patrick, Johnny, David, Nathan, Matthew, Neal, Bonnie, Ray Jr, Katy, Cory, Scott and Mary. Red was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rachel and Harvey, brother, Ted Williams, sister, Sally Bowline, mother-in-law, Grace Brewer and father-in-law, Floyd Brewer, and son-in-law, Danny Lee Bullard. Brewer, Nephew Dale Fletcher, Brother-in-law Jack Fletcher and Sister-in-law Linda Woodall. Services for Red will be Graveside at Tom Girty Cemetery, Webbers Falls, OK, in honor of Red’s birthday, on September 28th, 2024, at 11am.
