Wanda L. Clark

Wanda Lucille Clark, 91, of Muskogee, Oklahoma went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 22, 2020. She was born on January 31, 1929 in Haskell, Oklahoma to Harvey and Bertha Damme. Wanda grew up in a large family and graduated from Muskogee Central High School. Shortly after graduation, Wanda proudly served her country as a member of the United States Air Force as a radio operator stationed at Kessler Air Force base in Mississippi. She went on to receive an honorable discharge for her time in the service. She was a proud employee of Humpty Dumpty where she worked until her retirement after 25 years of service. She met the love of her life, Athel D. Clark, and proudly became his wife on November 5, 1970 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They shared 44 years of marriage together. Wanda enjoyed spending time outdoors. Her hobbies included fishing, boating and reading books. She loved attending sporting events and other activities of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wanda was always active in church and truly had a servant’s heart. She looked for ways to help others and will be missed by everyone who knew her. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Athel D. Clark; her parents, Harvey and Bertha Damme; brother, Floyd Damme; sisters, Mildred Shelton, Geraldine Richmond, Rowena Levine, Roberta Stephens, Elizabeth Wilson, and Dorma Jeane Damme; son, Terry Ball; daughter, Rene’ Smith; and step-son, Dewayne Clark. She is survived by her son, Gene Ball of Muskogee; daughter, Darcy Teeples and husband, Larry of Fort Gibson; daughter-in-law, Cindy Ball of Muskogee; son-in-law, Elwood Smith of Fort Gibson; step-son, Nick Clark and wife Debra of Wagoner; step-daughter, Sharon Barton and husband Larry of Thompsons Station, TN; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends. Her family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Country Gardens, Good Shepherd Hospice, and Sooner Home Health for all the love and care they showed Wanda. A celebration of Wanda’s life will be 10AM, Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Memorial Park Mausoleum with Chaplain Bill Crow officiating.
