Alma L. Brown Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Alma Louise (Lish) Brown, 62, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. She was born June 14, 1958, the daughter of Raymond Lish and Phyllis (Rainbolt) Lish in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Alma attended Muskogee Public Schools. Alma married Mike Edward Brown on December 8, 1988 in Sebastian County, Arkansas. They shared over 32 years of life, marriage and many memories together. Alma was always a very hard worker. She began working the Dairy Bar and then The Doghouse while still in high school. She worked at 7-11 for a while before starting her longtime employment with Safeway on Okmulgee St in Muskogee. She continued working there when it sold out to Homeland and continued until it closed. Alma spent a period of time substituting at Fort Gibson Schools before beginning her career with the United States Postal Service where she was employed at the time of her passing. Alma loved God, family and her pets! Some of her favorite hobbies and activities included spoiling her grandkids, being a kinship foster parent, traveling with her husband, being a Sunday School teacher, driving the church bus, fostering pets, going to garage sales, and finding awesome deals on Amazon. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edgar Lish; her father, Raymond Lish; her mother, Phyllis Rainbolt Lish; and her baby brother, Phillip Lish. Alma is lovingly survived by her husband, Mike Brown of the home; children, Michael & Lori Barnard of Checotah, OK, Julia Mullican of Muskogee, OK, Cody & Candice Brown of Tulsa, OK and Zachary Brown of the home & his fiancée Bristen Graves of Okay, OK; stepdaughter, Krishna Hoff of Oklahoma City, OK; siblings, Kenneth & Mary Lish of Wagoner, OK, Odis Lish of Gillette, WY, Viola & Marvin Fruits of Sibley, MO, and Monta & Alvin Campbell of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren, Kassie Barnard, Brennon Barnard, Ashley Henderson, Kylee Henderson, Madison Metcalf, Cameron Upky, Isaac Weigel, Olive Brown and Kaleigh Upky; great granddaughter, Hazel Rose Barnard; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins she loved dearly. Alma’s life will be celebrated at 10AM, Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Miller officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Barnard, Cody Brown, Zachary Brown, Brennon Barnard, Cameron Upky and Isaac Weigel.
