Charlene English, 83, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away Friday, January 21, 2022. She was born September 16, 1938 in Chanute, Kansas to Haskell Lee and Elda (Goad) Daniels. Charlene married the love of her life and best friend, Boyd Eugene English on July 8, 1956 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They shared more than 65 years of life, marriage and memories together; many of those years being in Oklahoma City and Edmond. She was very proud to have worked for 2 years at the 5th Army Headquarters in Chicago. She was President of K-Tronics International, a business she built together with her husband. She later worked as a chaplain for the Colonel John Stark Sr, Chapter of the DAR. She will always be remembered as a passionate supporter of the disabled and a trailblazing advocate for special education. She was also a proud supporter of the Meadow Center for Opportunity which supports special needs clients. Charlene loved to travel, especially taking trips to Las Vegas and Hawaii. She also enjoyed doing ceramics and was a very talented sketch artist. She took much joy in her home and was very proud of her family. She was a dedicated mother and wife and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Haskell Lee and Elda Daniels. Charlene is survived by her husband, Boyd; daughters, Kelly Lee English, Karen Elizabeth Thomas and husband Craig; grandsons, Scott Thomas and Mark Thomas; brother, Dwight Daniels and wife Virginia along with nieces Pam Teel and Patricia Clariday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Meadows Center for Opportunity, 1000 S. Kelly Ave, Edmond, OK, 73003. Charlene’s life will be celebrated at 1PM, Friday, January 28, 2022 at Greenhill Cemetery with Chaplain Bill Crow officiating.
