Daniel M. Rice

October 9, 1955 - March 29, 2022

Daniel Morris Rice, age 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Dan was born October 9, 1955 in Phoenix, AZ to M.A. and Retta Rice. He served in the United States Army from 1972-1975 during the Vietnam era. After serving his country, Dan returned to Glendale, AZ where he married his high school sweetheart, Carol Ann Dobbs, on November 3, 1975. Together they moved to Muskogee, OK where they raised their family. Dan and his dad owned and operated the family business, D&J Radiator/Rice’s Welding for many years. Dan was a mechanic for UPS in Muskogee, where he retired after 25 years. He was a hard worker and provider for his family. Dan was one of the most giving and loving men you could ever meet. He always said, “Jesus loves you and so does Big Dan.” He loved racing, camping, spending time with his friends, traveling with Carol, but he was most proud of his grandbabies. Dan will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Peggy Rice. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol of 46 years; his children, Michael and Karla Rice, Daniel and Susan Rice, and Rebecca and Keith Richison; thirteen grandchildren, Avery, Ashton, Alex, Hunter, Braden, Jaxon, Alexis, Andrew, Abby, Emma, Grace, Rachael and Bethany; one sister, Linda and Tony Pruitt; along with many more beloved friends and family. A celebration of Dan’s life will be 2PM, Monday, April 4, 2022 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Shane Keeter officiating. Interment will be 1:30 PM, Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
