Debra Lynn Laymon

Debra ‘Debbie’ Lynn Laymon, 58, of Hulbert, OK passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022. She was born on November 7, 1963 to Virgil Ray Fritts and Mary Carmen Cassity (Mannon) in Sallisaw, OK. Debbie was raised in Gore, OK with her mom, brother, and sisters. Growing up she loved to twirl her fire baton and fight with her sisters. She married her first husband in 1979. They had a son and 3 daughters. Her son and youngest daughter passed away as babies. Her children were her pride and joy. She met Jr. in 1987 and was with him until he passed in 2016. She was a CNA for most of her life. Later in life she went to Tulsa Community College and became a Respiratory Therapist which she truly loved. Debbie’s first love was God. Any down time she had she would read her bible and thank the Lord for her many blessings. She always had a smile and jewelry on. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. Her biggest fault was not telling people no. She loved everyone and never met a stranger. She loved to work in her flower bed and plant tulips, especially yellow ones. Getting her hair and nails done was a must. In the summer you could find her in the pool relaxing or doing her water exercises. She always wanted to travel and didn’t get to do it as much as she would have liked. Her most favorite thing to do anytime was to be with her kids and grandkids. She loved spending time with all her family, and it made her the happiest person ever. She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Fritts; husband, Jr. Shrum; son, Derrick Laymon; daughter, Destiny Laymon; stepmother, Pat Fritts; grandmother, Lucille ‘Marmie’ Spencer; and many other family members and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Tonya Givens and husband James of Braggs, OK, and Tiffany Price and husband Danny of Muskogee, OK; mother, Carmen Cassity of Hulbert, OK; sisters, Mary Hughes of Hulbert, OK, Suzanne Locust of Gore, OK, Tina Rowell of Sallisaw, OK; brother, Barry Fritts of Hulbert, OK; grandchildren, Austin Givens and Katelynn Givens both of Braggs, OK, Braden Rodden and Helen Rodden both of Muskogee, OK, Aleigha Cain of Claremore, OK, and Mikaela Shrum of Hulbert, OK; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. A celebration of Debbie’s life will be at 10AM, Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor George McLaughlin officiating.
