Frank Romie Gorton Frank Romie Gorton died on September 3, 2021 quietly in his home that he built in Muskogee. He was born October 22, 1928 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Romie Grant Gorton and Ruby Missouri (O’Neal) Gorton. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Barbara (Ruttencutter/Brock) Gorton; three sons, David Gorton of Muskogee, Stephen Gorton of Norman, and Michael Gorton of Muskogee. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Sarah Gorton of Oklahoma City, Laura Gorton Thompson of Edmond, Jim Gorton of Oklahoma City, John Gorton of Edmond, Cat Mish of Washington, Pennsylvania; 13 great-grandchildren, Xander Brock, Blake Mish, Darian Mish, Andrew Mish, Connie Mish, Malichi Mish, Nathan Mish, Elizabeth Mish, Zoey Mish, Joshua Thompson, Spencer Thompson, and Evan Gorton; and one great-great-grandchild, Lanie Mish and another great-great-grandchild due in October. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, John Gorton, Dewey Gorton, Fred Gorton; his sister, Ellen Gorton; and grandson, Joshua Gorton. He worked for many years in the parts department of City Chevrolet in Muskogee and later at Thomas Cadillac in Tulsa. Due to COVID concerns, a graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
