Furlene Louise Covington

Furlene Louise Covington, 73, of Muskogee, OK passed away on Monday, April 11th, 2022. She was born on September 30th, 1948 to Dennis and Edna (Stelting) Jones in Omak, Washington. She attended and graduated from public school and beauty school. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Covington on September 8, 1969 in Douglas, Washington. They shared 22 years of marriage and memories together until his passing in 1991. Furlene was a homemaker for much of her life. She loved taking care of her home and family. She volunteered her time in various roles for Parent Teacher Associations at her children's schools. Furlene was a soldier in the Salvation Army, where she led Sunbeams and taught Sunday School. In her spare time she enjoyed working in her garden with her husband. She was preceded by her husband, Kenneth Covington; Father, Dennis Paul Jones; Mother, Edna Jones; and her Brothers, Dennis Lee Jones, and Elmer Jones. She is survived by her Sisters, Marty Leo and Linda McBride both of Illinois; Brother, Eugene Jones of Washington; Son, Francis G. Covington of Oklahoma; Daughters, Jessica Roach and Greeva Nunn both of Oklahoma; Stepdaughter, Kala King; Grandchildren; Alexus Roach, Vannessa Fajardo, Jammie Fajardo, Aspen Nunn, Nathan Roach, Gage King and Gunner King; Great-Grandchildren, Thatcher Knollenberg and Elly Knollenberg; and a host of other family members and friends. A celebration of Furlene’s Life will be 2:30pm, Wednesday, April 20th, 2022 Graveside at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Mr. Dallas Capps officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Sons-In-Law, Rodney Roach, Derek Nunn, Robert King, and longtime friend Shane Frix.
