George Lewis Ivy Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

George Lewis “Sonny” Ivy, 86, of Muskogee, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 26, 2022. He was born on September 15, 1935 to George Frosty Ivy and Ira Edna (Roberson) Ivy in Tryon, Oklahoma. He graduated from Tryon High School. He married the love of his life, Shirley Marie Ivy, on August 10, 1957 in Cushing, Oklahoma. They shared many years of life, love and marriage together. George was a construction engineer for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1992. He was a faithful member of York Street Christian Church. He was also a member of “The Redneck Roundtable”. George loved going fishing and playing golf. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ira Ivy; his loving wife, Shirley Ivy; and his sister, Geneva Siess. He is survived by his sons, Mike Ivy and wife Jeanie of Perry, OK, and Steve Ivy and wife Tami of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren, Chris Ivy of McKinney, TX, Amber Clark and husband Kody of Fort Gibson, OK, and Connor Ivy and wife Bethany of Fort Gibson, OK; great-grandchildren, Brynlee Clark and Hudson Clark; and many other family members and friends. A celebration of George’s life will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 3, 2022 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Thompson and Rev. Donnie Echols officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be The Redneck Roundtable.
