Helen Jean Geminn

Helen Jean Geminn, 92, of Muskogee passed away Monday, August 9, 2021. Helen was born on August 22, 1928 to Prentiss and Edna Mae Ervin in Belleville, IL. After the death of her parents, she was raised by her aunt Helen (Aunty). Upon graduating from Belleville Township High School, Helen was employed at banks in Saint Louis and San Diego. Helen married her best friend, John Geminn on October 15, 1949 in Belleville, IL. They shared 61 happy years of life and memories together until John’s passing. In 1958 they moved to Muskogee where she has lived ever since in the same house! Helen enjoyed teaching 3rd grade Sunday School at Trinity United Methodist for many years, sharing pictures and stories from her travels in the Holy Land. She later transferred to First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. Helen loved being a part of her granddaughters’ lives, taking them on many trips and adventures with John. She never missed a softball game, basketball game or recital. She loved baking and made the best pies and chocolate chip cookies. She was a wonderful homemaker, caring for all in her family. Her love and support will be forever missed by her family. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John Geminn; parents, Prentiss and Edna Ervin; brother, James Ervin; and aunt, Helen J. Ervin. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Mosteller (Ted) of Muskogee, OK; son, Ronald Geminn (Janna) of Edmond, OK; sister, Marilyn Agles of Belleville, IL; grandchildren, Kendal Pinkston (Ben) of Edmond, OK, Leslie Watson (Craig) of Dallas, TX, Lindsey Funk (Chris) of OKC, OK; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Gentry, Laine, Callan, Channing, and Maximus. Family will greet friends from 6pm-8pm, Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A celebration of Helen’s life will be 2pm, Friday, August 13, 2021 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Patrick McPherson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery Pavilion. Serving as pallbearers include Ted Mosteller, Ben Pinkston, Chris Funk, and Craig Watson. Honorary pallbearer will be John Thomson.
