Howard William Owens

January 17, 1937 - January 3, 2022

Howard Owens was born January 17, 1937 in Vian, OK. On January 3, 2022 the love of his life Wilma and Jesus, came and took him home. Howard is survived by daughter Jody Williams and husband Victor of Braggs, OK; son, Jerry Owens and wife Kelly of Ft Gibson, OK; grandsons, Robby Williams and wife Alison of Ft Gibson, Ryan Williams of Braggs, OK, Vaughn Owens of Ft. Gibson, OK, Halen Owens of Muskogee, OK, Tyler Henshaw of Muskogee, OK, bonus granddaughter, Kandra Boucher and husband Andy of Hulbert, OK; two sisters, Nora Harris of Ft. Gibson, OK and Dora McClure of Coweta, OK and 21 great grandkids and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma; daughter, Trina; grandson Zac and his parents Clyde and Betty Owens. Howard was a musician his whole life. Him and his family traveled for over 35 years total singing Southern Gospel music. He was a member of The Old Mission Church in Ft. Gibson, OK. By trade he was a route driver for many years, retiring in 1998. The most important thing to him was his wife, kids and grandkids. He spent many hours playing John Wayne with his grandsons and planting sucker trees with them in his big garden every year. They loved hearing his stories about growing up in the Depression and about their great grandpa Clyde Owens. Howard leaves a great void, but his family knows he is finally where he wants to be, with Jesus and Wilma. Howard and Wilma’s 52 years together was a great life of love. He will be greatly missed.
