Jack Lee McBroom

Jackie “Jack” Lee McBroom, 74, of Council Hill, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020. He was born on August 20, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Ray Leon McBroom and Jewel Anie Mae (Elkins) McBroom. On January 1, 1986 he married Carol Diane (Hannaford) McBroom in Council Hill, Oklahoma. They spent over 36 memorable years together. Jack and his dad owned and operated LeJac Corporation for more than 50 years. LeJac installed electric in many major buildings: V.A. Hospital, Arrowhead Mall, International Harvester (Wagoner), Anchor Glass plant (Henryetta), schools, and many other businesses. He was also a 40-year member of the Masonic Alpha Lodge #12 of Fort Gibson, Scottish Rite of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Bedouin Shrine of Muskogee, Oklahoma where he was active in the Mounted patrol and Knights Templer. Jack enjoyed cattle ranching, farming, hunting, and fishing. He especially loved the hunting trips and New Year’s Eve parties with “Magnificent Seven”. Jack loved his children and grandchildren, all of whom called him “Pop”, they each held a special place in his heart. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Ray L. McBroom and Jewell Anie Mae Phillips; daughter, Sammy Orlando Cooper; ex-wife, Orvetta Sue McBroom. He is survived by his wife, Carol Diane (Hannaford) McBroom, of Council Hill, Oklahoma; sons, Jackie Lee McBroom, Jr. and Wife Cary of Great Falls, Montana, Justin Michael Culp and wife Melissa of Wichita, Kansas; grandsons, Trey Stach of Waco, Texas, and Jayme Ray McBroom of Great Falls, Montana; granddaughters, Jaci McBroom of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Belle McBroom of Great Falls, Montana, Joscelyn Meadors of Wichita, Kansas, and Landrey Culp of Wichita, Kansas; brother, Billy Phillips, of Newalla, Oklahoma; and many dear friends. Jack’s life will be celebrated with a private family service with Wayne Loftin officiating. Interment will be at New Hope City Cemetery in Stilwell, Oklahoma with Mel Bolenback, Jackie T. Howard, Gloyd Miller, and Phil Berry serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 North York St, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
