Kenneth "Chick" Phillips Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kenneth “Chick” Phillips, 84, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered his Heavenly home on Saturday, February 5, 2022. He was born March 27, 1937 in Porum, Oklahoma to Floyd Calvin and Della Olean (Cude) Phillips. He was a proud member of the United States Army and served in Germany during his time. He received an honorable discharge in October 1957. Chick married his best friend and love of his life, Patricia “Diane” Rhodes on June 9, 1972 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They shared more than 49 years of life, marriage and memories together. He worked as a machine operator at Camel Tire Product and retired after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes. In his younger years, he looked forward to deer hunting every year. Chick attended Boston Avenue Baptist Church in Muskogee. He will always be remembered for his love for God and his family. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Della Phillips; brothers, Vinnis (Gladys) Phillips, Fred Phillips, John (Sue) Phillips, and Andrew Phillips; sisters, Lois Phillips, Flora Phillips, Wilma (Coy) Brown, Leafy (Chesley) Miller, Mary (Bill) Fowler, and Betty (Arther) Bales; and grandson, Isaiah Phillips. Chick is survived by his loving wife, Diane, of the home; children, Sherry (Alan) Wilks of Ft. Gibson, OK, Melanie Phillips of Ft. Worth, TX, Kenny Phillips of Siloam Springs, AR, and Mark (Aimee) Phillips of Madagascar; sisters-in-law, Doris Phillips of Muskogee, OK and Jolene Phillips of Jenks, OK; grandchildren, Ashlie (John) Ryan, Justin (Heather) Wilks, Nicholas (Robin) Wilks, Sally Ford, Skylar (Tommy) Blackstock, Grace, Oliver, Naomi and Evangelia Phillips; great-grandchildren, Nadia, Johnny, Oliva, Amelia, Grayson, Harrison, Tayven, Spencer, Saydee, Joyce, Waylon and Rowdy; along with many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM, Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Chick’s life will be celebrated at 2PM, Friday, February 11, 2022 at Boston Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Donnie Echols officiating. Interment will follow at Oktaha Cemetery with military honors being presented. Pallbearers will be Billy Don Fowler, Gene Rhodes, Tayven Smith, Justin Wilks, Nicholas Wilks and Dug Phillips.
