Kirby Ann Milne

July 14, 1952 - October 23, 2021

Kirby Ann Milne “MeMe”, 69, passed from this life into God’s loving arms on Saturday, October 23, 2021. She was born July 14, 1952 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Wendell and Marguerite Milne. Kirby grew up around Muskogee, Fort Gibson and Oktaha. She graduated from Oktaha High School in 1970 and furthered her education at NSU graduating in 1974. She received a Master of Education and Counseling degree from OU in 1976. Kirby taught at several schools and began her last job in 1978 at Fort Gibson High School as the Indian Education Counselor. She served the students in many more positions at Fort Gibson before she retired in 2013. In 1984, Kirby began motherhood to four children that she adopted and later added Amy Pipkins to complete her family. She also fostered other children. She will always be remembered as a devoted mother, sister and “MeMe”. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wendell and Marguerite Milne; and son, James Milne. Kirby is survived by her brother, Wendell H Milne and wife Vikki of Muskogee; daughters, Dessa Alverson of Broken Arrow, Chrissy Lewis and Amy Pipkins both of Muskogee; son, Bobby Milne of North Carolina; grandchildren, Brittni, Dallas, Joey-Michael, Jazmin, Dacoda, Raven, Emily, Braxton, Ella, Keagan and K’Lee; great-grandchildren, India, and Ellie on the way; cousins, Phyllis Woodard, Susan Garland and David Parker; aunt, Pat Dause and husband James; daughter-in-law, Andrea Milne; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Kirby’s life will be celebrated at 2PM, Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Steve Rose and Pastor Kelly Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson. Pallbearers will be Austin Clark, Alec Lynn, Joey-Michael Lewis, Trea Milne, Levi Sandersfield and Greg Northcutt. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Clark, Patrick Dause, Seth Garland and Patrick Scott.
