LaDonna "Joy" Jenkins Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

LaDonna Joy (McGrew) Jenkins, 61, of Owasso, OK left this life on Tuesday, April 26th, 2022 after a long battle of illnesses. Joy was born in Muskogee, OK. She attended school in Warner where she graduated from Warner High School in 1979. She graduated from Indian Capital Technology Center Practical Nursing Program in 1997 then continued her education at Connors State College where she graduated and became a registered nurse in 2003. She lived her life as a registered nurse and all her patients loved her as much as she loved them. The nursing community blessed her with many friends along the way. Joy married her husband, James C. Jenkins, at the Crystal Chapel in Eureka Springs, AR on March 16th, 1997. They spent 11 years together before he was tragically killed in 2008. She will always be remembered for her numerous decorations for every holiday, especially Easter and Christmas, as those were her favorites. She was preceded in death by her husband James C. Jenkins, her father Jerry C. McGrew, her paternal grandparents Lora and Gertrude McGrew and her maternal grandparents Herman and Zella Bryan. Joy is survived by her mother, Shirley Jones and husband Gene of Ft. Smith, AR; sister, Cheryl Reece and husband Jeff of Webbers Falls, OK, brother, Shawn McGrew of Carthage, Missouri; sister, Becki Banther of Owasso, OK; “sisters” Treva Filipps, Tammy McIntosh and Diana McCrary; nephew, Jeffery Reece and wife Tiffany of Muskogee, OK, niece Beth Sellers and husband Jeff of Meeker, OK, nephew, Jeremy Reece and Tia of Mounds, OK, niece Morgan Parsons and husband Michael of Porum, OK, niece, McKinzee Farmer and husband Andrew of Muskogee, OK, nephews, Connor and Cooper Banther of Owasso, OK; a special friend, Trudy Crow; along with several great nieces, nephews and extended family. All friends and family are welcome to celebrate Joy’s life at 10AM, Monday, May 16, 222 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
