Linda Kay Hopkins Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Linda Kay Mustain Hopkins,69, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021 in Tulsa, OK. She was born in Hayward, California on July 5th, 1951 to Carl and Doris (Burt) Mustain. Kay married her true love, Gary Hopkins, on April 3rd, 1970 in Okay, OK. Gary and Kay had two children, Sherry Hopkins and Tony Hopkins. She loved to do accounting and enjoyed serving others with her God given talents. Kay lived out Colossians 3:23 and enjoyed her work as a bookkeeper for Bob Curtsinger, Curt's Oil Company, Weaver Accounting, Dan Dunlap Accounting, Muskogee First Assembly of God, First Baptist Church of Okay, and Three Rivers Custom Cabinets. Kay was very involved in her church at First Baptist Church of Okay. She served alongside her sister in Christ, Connie McElmurry, and played the organ for 48 years, led women’s ministry and bible studies, taught as a Sunday school teacher, worked with the youth group, and volunteered in many other aspects of the church. Kay loved to read and play the piano and organ. One of her biggest treasures in life were her grandchildren. She treasured and loved each of them both equally and individually. She would do anything in the world for them, including making their favorite chocolate gravy and biscuits anytime they asked. She lived life as a faithful servant of God and was a witness to every single person she came in contact with as a reflection of Christ's love. She remembered everyone’s birthday and anniversary by sending cards in the mail. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in her family and the many people she touched. She was met at Heaven’s gates by her mother, Doris Mustain. Kay is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary Hopkins of Okay, OK; her father, Carl Mustain of Okay, OK; her daughter, Sherry Hopkins of Muskogee, OK; her son, Tony and his wife Belinda Hopkins of Okay, OK; grandson, Drew and wife Kelsey Reed; granddaughters, Jade Hopkins, Audrey Hopkins, and Brooklin Bias; as well as many other family members, including the newest addition, Tigger Snuggles Hopkins. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Lung Cancer Research Foundation at: https://www.lungcancerresearchfoundation.org/. Funeral services celebrating Linda’s life will be 10AM, Friday, March 5, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Okay with Rev. Donnie Echols and Mr. Ken Krepps officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee with Drew Reed, Casey Hopkins, Gary McElmurry, Jeremy Mustain, Jonathan Mustain, and Scott Russell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Audrey Hopkins, Brooklin Bias, Jade Hopkins, and Kelsey Reed.
