Marguerite Dorothy Hayward

January 30, 1940 - January 17, 2022

Marguerite ‘Marg’ Dorothy Hayward, 81, of Muskogee OK passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022. She was born on January 30, 1940 to James and Hattie Amos in Indianapolis, IN. She married the love of her life Raymond ‘Tom’ Earl Hayward in June 1962 in Indiana. They shared many happy years of marriage and memories together until his passing. Marg enjoyed sewing, painting, swimming, reading, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an exceptional wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was preceded by her husband, Tom Hayward; parents, James and Hattie Amos; daughter, Vicky Pearce; son-in-law, Larry Shoemake; brothers, James and Tom; sisters, Roslyn, Alice, and Rose Mary. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Marecek (George), Cheryl Hagan, Tina Locust (Mark), Bonnie Sanders, and Ginny Shoemake; grandchildren, Michael Drywater Jr.(Shelly), Khristy Potts (Jeff), Richard Drywater, Jackie Eaton (Kurtis), Jimmy Hagan Jr., Donny Hagan, December Drywater, David Readdy Jr., Jennifer Readdy, Sandra Merrill, Michelle Merrill, Michael Merrill, Elizabeth Odgen, and Alyssa Shoemake; adoptive grandchildren who were always claimed as her own, Teresa Sanchez and Kristen Bishop; great-grandchildren, Alexis (Seth), Abbi, Kayleigh, Charlie, Ronnie, Jordan, Emma, Lynn, Gensis, Taya, Haylie, Addy, Aria, Thalia, Collins; great-great-grandchildren, Cosette and one on the way; brother, John Amos; and many other special family and friends left to cherish her memory. A celebration of Marg’s life will be 10am, Saturday, 01/22/2022 at Boulevard Christian Church with Pastor Steve Moss officiating. Marg’s interment will be 10am, Tuesday, 01/25/2022 at Greenhill Cemetery Pavilion. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Potts, Ricky Quinton, Seth Chapius, Bob Potts, Richard Drywater, and Ronnie Mavecek. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Drywater Jr., David Readdy Jr., Michael Merrill, Jimmy Hagan Jr., and Donny Hagan. A special thank you to Alyssa, Eastgate Village and staff, and Hometown Hospice and staff for all the wonderful care they provided for Marg.
