Robert 'Alan' Dismukes

Robert “Alan” Dismukes, 69, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 with his family at his side. He was born July 24, 1952 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to William and Dorothy (Higdon) Dismukes. He attended Longfellow Elementary School, West Jr. High, and graduated from Central High School in 1970 where he was in the marching band. Alan married his best friend, Cynthia Moore on October 25, 1981 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They shared more than 40 years of life, marriage and cherished memories together. He worked at Anderson Wholesale as a buyer for many years where he made many lasting friendships. Alan loved music, motorcycles and taking trips to Eureka Springs with his family. He will always be remembered for his love of his family and his passing will leave a huge void in their lives. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Dismukes; sister, Ann Briggs; and brother, William “Billy” Dismukes. Alan is survived by his wife, Cindy of the home; son, James Bliss and wife Crystal Chapman Bliss of Warner; daughter, Casey Stewart and husband Stephen of Ft. Gibson; grandsons, Trenton Sanders, Ty Bliss, Greyson Stewart; granddaughters, Emma Kobosky and Presley Stewart; brother-in-law, Ollie Briggs of Tulsa; niece, Lisa Rowsey and husband Jeff of Tulsa and their children Madison and Court Rowsey; nephew, Paul Briggs and wife Mary of New Berlin, Wisconsin and their children Jake and Megan Briggs; along with other family members and many friends. Alan’s life will be celebrated at 2PM, Monday, February 7, 2022 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Harry Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Alan Lackey, John Tarkington, Jerry Frazier, Jeff Pitts, Mac Keeling and Fred Haynes serving as pallbearers.
