Robert Lane Freeman
October 15, 1946 - April 5, 2022
Rob – or Robbie, as a lot of people including his parents called him, was born in Visalia, California October 15, 1946. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 5, 2022. When Rob was 18 months old, he was brought to Oklahoma and raised by his Granny and Gramps, Walter and Rena Brandenburger, until the age of 12 when he was adopted by Bill and Mary Lou Freeman. He was a student at Muskogee Public Schools until graduation, then went on to obtain a degree in Business Administration at NSU. He loved sports, George Strait, classic rock, classic cars, his little dog, Maggie, that passed before him, his people and his God. He was an avid bowler for most of his life and is in the Muskogee Bowlers Hall of Fame. It was his passion, as well as his parents Bill and Mary Lou, and he bowled until his health would no longer allow it. Preceding him in death was his father, Bill Freeman, and he is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Freeman, ex-wife Mary L Yaffe, step-children Rebecca Barnhart, Gregory Burchfiel, Valerie Devol, Sheli Wise, and step-grandchildren Skylar Simmons, Blake Simmons, Brooke Barnhart, Andrew Wise, Jenna Wise, Oden Devol and Daphne Devol. After cremation his remains will be buried beside his grandparents at Greenhill Cemetery, Muskogee, OK.
