Vera Palvene Ashing, 86, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 with her family at her side. She was born January 28, 1936 in Johnson County, Texas to Otis Ola and Ermine (Singleton) Wright. She loved nothing more than being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, George J Ashing Jr; son, Barry L Ashing; parents, Otis and Ermine Wright; sisters, Anna Letha Dell Reed, Ermine Clara Morton and Lilith Fay Cooper; and brother, Otis J G Wright. Vera is survived by her brother, James Dean Wright; children, Ricky and Dianna Ashing of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Cindi and Charlie Been of Morris, Oklahoma, and Pat Ashing of Muskogee, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Rebecca and Brian Engman, Stephanie Ashing, Angela and Adam Daniel, Beau and Sharlette Jordan, Chad and Angie Been, Corey and Flesha Dawn Been, Patricia and Tony Combs, Michael and Amy Ashing, Jennifer and Loyd Wright; great-grandchildren, Amber Engman, Kacie Ashing, Elizabeth and Brian Hulbert, Karli Ashing, Kurstin Daniel, Rilie Daniel, Ayden Been, Gracie Been, Aria Been, Ember Been, Malea Been, Natalie Jordan, Elisha Jordan, Chloe Jordan, Kyrie Combs, Mataya Combs, Taylon Combs, Merydian Combs, Trevor Wright, Emily Wright; great-great-grandchildren, Evangeline Schiller and Colton Keith; along with other family members. Vera’s life will be celebrated at 2PM, Friday, May 20, 2022 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Hart officiating. Interment will follow at Morris Cemetery in Morris, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Charlie Been, Adam Daniel, Chad Been, Brian Engman, Brian Hulbert and Michael Ashing.
