William Harvey Harris II Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William H. (Bill) Harris was born February 25, 1938 to James and Helen Harris of Cushing, OK. He attended Cushing High School and then Oklahoma University where he met his wife Sondra and they married in 1959. They both graduated in 1960 and he began his accounting career at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell in Tulsa. In 1963 they moved to Muskogee where he worked for Moffitt & Co. He earned his CPA certificate and attended TU law school graduating in 1973. Bill was active in FUMC, the Bedouin Shrine Temple where he was a 33rd Degree Mason, in addition to being an IFR pilot. He was able to combine these interests in charitable transport of children to the Shrine Hospital. An avid skier, he loved to water ski and snow ski and was able to keep it up into his 60’s. An ardent bridge player, he enjoyed playing a hand with friends, but he was equally enthusiastic with a rousing game of spoons or dominoes with the children and grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife, Sondra of the home; son, Jim Harris; daughter, Elizabeth Leeds; son-in-law, Rusty Leeds; grandchildren, Garrett Leeds, Will Harris, Katie Leeds, Lucy (Andrew) Kerr, and Grace (Tyler) Whitson; great-grandchildren, Lilith Kerr and one on the way! He was a fine man of integrity, with a dry wit and a caring nature. He will be missed. There will be a small family conducted service at a later date.
