Clifton M. Murray

Clifton Michael Murray, 60, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016. He was born November 7, 1955 to Glenn Clifton Murray, Jr. and Bettie Jean (Cox) Murray in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Growing up, Clif attended Sam Houston Elementary in Tulsa, Whittier Elementary, Alice Robertson Jr. High School, and graduated from Muskogee High School with the class of 1974. He then went to Oklahoma State University for 2 years. Clif also attended multiple SBC training classes. Clif married the love of his life, Suzanne Lynn Gibson, on December 14, 1996 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They shared over 19 years of life and marriage together. Clif loved many things including hunting, fishing, bowling, gardening, martial arts, inventing new items, and rebuilding his 1966 Chevelle. He also loved cooking for the masses, coaching his boys’ baseball team, The Muskogee Cubs, and entertaining his family and friends. Clif was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Clifton Murray, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne of the home; sons, Rannek Murray and Rylee Murray of the home; daughters, Elyse Dempsey and husband Chad of Muskogee, OK, and Elaina Murray of Wagoner, OK; grandchildren, Ava, Mason, and Maverick Dempsey all of Muskogee, OK, and Ryder Trueblood of Wagoner, OK; mother, Bettie Murray of Muskogee, OK; sister, Rhonda (Murray) Scocos of Muskogee, OK; nephews, Nick Scocos and wife Maranda and their children Cole and Alexin all of Derby, KS, Andrew Scocos and his daughter Adilynn of Broken Arrow, OK, and Reed Scocos and wife Desi and their son Greyson of Coweta, OK; and numerous other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A celebration of Clif’s life will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 29, 2016 at Muskogee First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Crow officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Gene Ball, Chad Dempsey, James Gulley, Kimber Rarick, Mark Andrews (Big A), and Jim McDonough serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Rarick, Bailey Puckett, Mitchell Croftcheck, and Kobe Kuykendall.
