D. K. Isham

D. K. Isham, beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was welcomed to his Heavenly home on Saturday, June 20, 2026. He was born on April 28, 1945, in Vian, Oklahoma, to Louie and Leona (Crook) Isham. D. K. attended public schools in Vian and graduated from Vian High School. He continued his education at West Arkansas and Northeastern State University. On July 30, 1965, D. K. married the love of his life, Rebekah Ann Carlile, in Vian, Oklahoma. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, family, and devotion to one another. D. K. proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, beginning his service on December 30, 1965. He was honorably discharged on April 19, 1968, after faithfully answering the call to serve. He worked for Sequoyah Fuels, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring in 2025 as the Waste Management Supervisor. His work reflected his steady character, strong sense of responsibility, and commitment to doing things well. D. K. enjoyed riding his tractor and spending time outdoors. He found joy in the simple blessings of life and treasured time spent with his family. He was a faithful attendee of Vian Assembly of God Church and Muskogee First Assembly, where his faith and love for the Lord were an important part of his life. D. K. will be remembered for his love for his family, his faithful heart, his service to his country, and the quiet strength he shared with those around him. His memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Leona Isham; brothers, Louie and Jim; his sisters, Rema, Louise, Evanell, Amy, and Deally. D. K. is survived by his loving wife, Rebekah of the home; sons, David Isham and wife Mary, Joel Isham and wife Anita; eight grandchildren, Brandi Duncan and husband Chris, Courtney Isham, Erin Skaggs and husband Trey, Isaac Isham and wife Mazie, Raegan Wilson and husband Preston, Abby Morgan and husband Kyler, Lexie Isham, and Kason Isham; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Isham and wife Linda; sister, Margaret Holt and husband Phillip; along with other family members and many friends. A celebration of D. K.’s life will be at 10AM, Friday, June 26, 2026 at Vian Assembly of God Church with Dr. Steve Rose officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories in Vian with military honors being presented. Pallbearers will be Les Locust, Bryce Foster, Preston Wilson, Trey Skaggs, Chris Duncan, and Kyler Morgan.
