Dennis Allen Dumont

Dennis Allen Dumont, age 85, of Cookson, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026. He was born August 10, 1941, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Walter Marion and Ida Fay (Barnett) Dumont. On December 11, 1964, Dennis married the love of his life, Judy Carol Stephens. Together they shared more than 47 years of devotion, partnership, and family before Judy’s passing on August 29, 2012. Their bond was one built on loyalty, hard work, and deep affection — a foundation that shaped every chapter of their life together. Dennis lived a life defined by determination, grit, and an unwavering work ethic. Over the years he built many successful careers across a wide range of industries. He worked as a delivery driver for both Coke and Pepsi, owned and operated service stations, ran a resort, repaired boats as a skilled mechanic, framed and built homes, was a rig welder in Wyoming and eventually owned and operated his own trucking business, retiring in 2015. Even in retirement, Dennis never slowed down. He continued working tirelessly — building his retirement home, mowing, tending his yard, and keeping everything in meticulous shape. He was known for his heart of gold and his willingness to help anyone in need. Though he could be stubborn at times, Dennis was the kind of man who would give a stranger the shirt off his back without hesitation. His generosity, his strength, and his steady presence left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Dennis will be remembered for his hard work, his kindness, and the life he built through sheer determination and love. His legacy lives on in the home he crafted, the stories he shared, and the countless lives touched by his quiet goodness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; parents, Walter and Ida Dumont; and his sister, Kathy Sue Collins. Dennis is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Caraway; son, Dennis Dumont and wife Wendy; brother, Walter Dumont; grandchildren, Anthony Bombagetti, Trevor Bombagetti, Raegan Dumont, and Isabelle Dumont; great-grandchildren, Braden Bombagetti, Bailee Bombagetti, and Gianni Bombagetti; and friend, Judy Wolf; along with other family members and friends. A celebration of Dennis’ life will be at 11AM, Monday, August 24, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie Echols officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Dennis Dumont, Braden Bombagetti, Trevor Bombagetti, Anthony Bombagetti, Brian Barnett, and Rodney McFarland serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Walter “Skipper” Dumont.
