Durena G Qualls

Durena Gail Qualls, 56, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016. She was born April 15, 1959 to Tommy Durrell Lambert and Edith Louise (Mayberry) Lambert in Antlers, Oklahoma. She graduated from Fort Gibson High School. After many years of being together, Durena married her best friend, Mark Lynn Qualls on September 3, 2004 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They shared over 20 years of happy life together. Durena worked as a correctional officer for many years as she raised her 3 kids, but eventually she was needed more at home where she started her full time job as a mom, wife, and grandma. She loved to take care of others and took care of her mom, who is in a nursing home and did everything she needed daily. She also stayed busy taking care if her grandkids and attended all functions that they had. Durena enjoyed spending time at the lake with her family and loved going on the road with her husband mark as they went on many adventures truck driving. Durena not only had a caring heart for her human family, but she also cared for her “fur babies” 4 dogs and 5 cats who were just as important to her. She loved going to church at new life Assembly of God in Fort Gibson and valued her church family. She said they brought peace to her. Durena always said that family was everything and the only thing that mattered. She was Durena to everyone that knew her, but she was “Momo” to all of her grandchildren. Durena is survived by her husband, Mark Lynn Qualls of Ft. Gibson, OK; mom, Edith Lambert of Muskogee, OK; daughters, Travina Coleman, Ft, Gibson, OK, Tiffaney Rasmussen and husband Sahnnon of Muskogee, OK; son, Jefferey Daniel and wife Heather of OKC, OK; grandkids, Brendan Coleman, Caitlyn Coleman, Aidan Coleman all of Fort Gibson, Zane Rasmussen and Maddix Rasmussen of Muskogee, OK, Tracy Daniel and Tiffany Daniel both of OKC, OK; and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M., Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 N.
