Frances Sprouse

Frances Lee Sprouse, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Born on May 21, 1938, in McLain, Oklahoma, Frances was the cherished daughter of Lloyd Alfred and Mary Marie (Losson) Holder. She attended public schools in the area and proudly graduated from Muskogee Central High School with the class of 1956. Frances was first married to Melvin Lafayette Harrison, and together they were blessed with four children. Later in life, she married Carl Don Sprouse, and they shared many wonderful years until his death. For many years, Frances worked as a dedicated sales associate at C. R. Anthonys in Muskogee, where she made lasting friendships and touched the lives of countless customers. She retired after a long and fulfilling career, remembered for her kindness, work ethic, and warm smile. Frances found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the company of her family whom she adored. She treasured her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, always putting family first. Her love extended to her friends, and she delighted in weekly outings to the casino with her daughter Teresa, who she always called Tessie. She was also a 32-year member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4042 in Muskogee. Frances will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her loving spirit and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mary Holder; her husband, Don Sprouse; daughter, Pam Padgett; and granddaughter, Autumn Harrison. Frances is survived by her children, Jeff Harrison and wife Lori, Teresa Maddocks and husband Mike, and Donna Lashley and husband Jeff; son-in-law, David Padgett Sr; grandchildren, Sommer Farrow, Tyler Brown, Hunter Harrison, John Mose III, Mandy Knittel, Charlie Padgett, David Padgett Jr., Christopher Maddocks, Brent Maddocks, James Maddocks, Lacey Blevins, and Dakota Lashley; 17 great-grandchildren; along with many other family members and friends. Frances’ life will be celebrated at 2PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kelly Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with John Mose III, David Padgett Jr., Hunter Harrison, Dakota Lashley, Brent Maddocks, and James Maddocks serving as pallbearers.
