Glen Faith

Glen Dale Faith, 78, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at his home. He was born January 9, 1936 in High Hill, Oklahoma to John E. Faith and Ora Mae (Serber) Faith. Glen grew up and attended the first through eighth grade at High Hill School in High Hill, Oklahoma. He graduated from Haileyville High School in 1954. He went into the U.S. Army in 1954 and returned in 1957. Glen graduated from Eastern Oklahoma A&M College in Wilburton, Oklahoma. He worked as a supervisor at T.R.W. Corp for 25 years and later as the Superintendent at Greenhill Cemetery from which he retired in 2007. Glen was a member of the York Street Christian Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma where he served as Elder. He was also on the board of the Campus Christian Fellowship in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Glen married Delores (Dotty) McMurtrey on June 17, 1959, and to that union was born two sons, Randy Glen and Rodney John Faith. He was preceded in death by his father, John E. Faith; his mother, Ora Mae (Serber) Faith; his brother, Edward “Cotton” Faith; his sisters, Hazel Brown, Merle Kay, and Willie Mae Copeland; and sisters-in-law, Mickie Ellmaker and Patsy McMurtrey. Glen is survived by his wife, Dotty, of the home; his sons, Randy Glen Faith and wife, Pam of Monett, Missouri, and Rodney John Faith and wife, Kim of Muskogee, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Megan Dawn Ellingsworth and husband, Chase, and Zachary Glen Faith, all of Columbia, Missouri, and Abigail Laine Faith of Muskogee, Oklahoma; one great grandchild, Owen Ellingsworth of Columbia, Missouri; his brothers, Don Faith and wife, Janice of Muskogee, Raymond Faith and wife, Nema of Newcastle, Oklahoma; his sister, Margie Davis of Dallas, Oregon; his sister-in-law, Laverne Faith; his brother-in-law, Doyle Copeland; his brothers-in-law, Joe McMurtrey, Frank McMurtrey and wife, Carma, and Eddie McMurtrey, all of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; his sisters-in-law, Charlene Butkis of Dolton, Illinois, and Shirley McBee of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; many other family members and friends. The family requests donations be made to the Glen Faith Memorial Fund c/o York Street Christian Church, 1125 S York St, Muskogee, OK, 74403. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30p.m., Friday, April 11, 2014 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral services celebrating Glen’s life will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014 at York Street Christian Church with Mr. Tom Tucker and Gene Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Joe McMurtrey, Mike Ellmaker, Scot Butkis, Frankie Ray McMurtrey, Jeff McMurtrey, Mark McBee, Todd McBee, and Eddie Carol McMurtrey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Yadon, Berean Sunday School Class, Ronnie Copeland, Ed Faith, Dennis Faith, Donald Brown, Mike Brown, and Tracy Kay.
