Heather Ann Moore

Heather Ann Moore, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was born on September 26, 1980, in Great Falls, Montana, to Craig Moore and Ruth Ann (Goodson) Moore. Heather was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness and strength touched all who knew her. Her greatest pride and joy in life was her son, Aidan Moore of Muskogee, Oklahoma, whom she loved beyond measure. Heather was a proud graduate of Muskogee High School, Class of 1999. She continued her education at Oklahoma State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2003 and later a master’s degree in 2006. During her time at OSU, she also shared her passion for learning by teaching while pursuing her graduate studies. She dedicated much of her professional life as a Claims Examiner with the Muskogee VA Regional Office, where she served with compassion and integrity until her retirement. Heather’s work reflected her deep commitment to helping others, especially veterans. A lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Muskogee, Heather’s faith was an important part of her life. She found comfort and community within her church family. Heather is survived by her beloved son, Aidan Moore; her parents, Craig and Ruth Ann Moore of Muskogee; her sister, Sarah Grayson of Muskogee, and her niece, Madison Grayson; and her brother Aaron Moore and sister-in-law Becky Moore of Waxahachie, Texas, along with their sons Alex, Caleb, and Michael; Aidan's father, Tim Meyers. She is also survived by her loving aunts and uncles, Karen and David Kizzia, Johnnie and Diane Moore, Mary and Jeff Barnett, Annie and Tim Roddy, Cheryl Moore, and Carol Moore; as well as her cherished cousins Sam and Bonnie Spencer of Porter, Oklahoma, and their daughters Brooklyn, Makayla, and Samantha, along with many other cousins and extended family members who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Ruth Claire Goodson; her paternal grandparents, Johnnie H. Moore Sr. and Kathryn Moore; and her great aunt and uncle, George and Ruby Landers. A service to celebrate Heather’s life will be 1PM, Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at First United Methodist Church in Muskogee, officiated by Rev. Pam Cottrill and Rev. Cindy Culver. Honorary pallbearers will be Kate Luthy, Cara Pemberton, Neva Schoonover, Jessica Lindsey, Jenny Albin and Callie Fillman. The family would like to thank the employees of Carter Hospice and Monica Hoog for taking such great care of Heather. Heather will be remembered for her warm heart, her unwavering love for her family, and her gentle spirit. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
