Henry Dewayne Blevins

Henry Dewayne Blevins, 63, of Muskogee, went home to the Lord on Wednesday December 9, 2020. Dewayne was born in Gainesville, Texas, to Henry and Marvis Blevins. He attended public school and graduated from Muskogee High School in 1976. He married the love of his life and best friend, Johnette (Adams) Blevins on January 16, 1987. They shared 33 happy years of marriage and memories together. They were of Baptist faith and were active members of Southeast Baptist Church. He worked various jobs, he was a jack of all trades, but a master of none until he joined the Muskogee Fire Department in April of 1979. Dewayne retired from the Muskogee Fire Department in 2012 after 33 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, riding his side-by-side with friends, and reminiscing at his Monday lunches with the retirees. He enjoyed working on projects like building smokers, welding, or whatever else Brandon had managed to tear up that week! Blev had a laugh that no one could ever forget! He loved to travel and already had dreams of the fun times ahead. He enjoyed cooking, smoking meat, and smoking just about any food he could think of. Dewayne was an avid Yankees fan and sure enjoyed his Diet Mountain Dew!! Most importantly he loved his family and friends and would always show it with a BIG hug and a BIG ole smile. He was the best husband, father, papa, son, and brother; he was a gentle giant, he will forever be dearly missed!! He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Blevins in 2009; and his mother-in-law, Janice in 2006. He is survived by his loving wife, Johnette; daughter, Brandy Cluck and son-in-law Danny; son, Brandon and daughter-in-law Lacey “Miss Bree”; grandson, Noah Cluck; and granddaughters, Lillian Cluck and Lyla Blevins; mother, Marvis Blevins; sister, Connie Koehn and brother-in-law Lewis; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jan Laird and husband Roy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins. A celebration of Dewayne’s life will be 10am Friday, December 18, 2020 at Southeast Baptist Church with Pastors Mike Murray and Blake Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Kevin Warlick, Jerry Youngblood, Mike O’Dell, Berry Harris, Michael Capps, and Roger Carter serving as pallbearers.
