Ila M. Stoyanoski

Ila Mae Welch-Stoyanoski, 91, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021. She was born on October 18, 1929 to Clarence Bradford Welch and Delora (Bussey) Welch in Welty, Oklahoma. Ila was a high school graduate and later attended college. She married the love of her life, Stanley Theodore Stoyanoski, on October 20, 1956, in Durant, Oklahoma. They shared many years of life, marriage and family. Ila loved office work, especially work that involved numbers. She worked a variety of jobs such as tax preparing offices, Ruth Kelly Studio, and Callery Chemical. Ila was a devoted volunteer at her children’s schools. She was a life member of the DAV and was a member of American Legion for decades and loved attending their dances. In her younger years, Ila loved sewing and would window shop the fancy dresses, sketch one, then go home to her sewing machine and make it for her daughter. She passionately loved to cook. She especially loved to host large holiday dinners and spent days preparing her guests’ favorite dishes. Ila collected cookbooks and no matter how many she had, she just couldn’t resist buying another one anywhere she went. She also enjoyed watching cardinals and passionately collected anything with cardinals on them. She enjoyed bowling and bowled on a league for many years with her husband. Ila loved working in her gardens going camping with her family and friends and traveling. She also loved going on picnics and jumped at every opportunity to go on one. She tried to picnic in every park she could find on this side of Oklahoma, along with everywhere she traveled. Ila was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family and Lord dearly. Ila recently developed an eagerness to learn all she could about God and the bible. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Delora Welch; her husband, Stanley Stoyanoski; and her sister, Dorothy Canman. Ila is survived by her daughter, Anna Watts of Checotah, OK; her son, Vince Stoyanoski and wife Karen of Salina, OK; grandchildren, Natalie Watts and husband Adam of Joplin, MO, Kenny Watts and wife Dana of Atlanta, GA, Larry Watts of Oklahoma, Paul Watts of Pawhuska, OK, Ranita Watts of Wetumka, OK, Amanda Ayers of Henryetta, OK, Alex Stoyanoski of Salina, OK, and McKenzie Harp of Salina, OK; many great-grandchildren; niece, Beverly Petzet of Texas; special friends, Maxine, Vivian and Ken; and many other family members and friends. A celebration of Ila’s life will be 10AM, Monday, September 13, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Bill Crow officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
