Margaret Price

Miss Margaret Price, 98, of Muskogee, OK, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011, following a brief illness. Margaret was born February 7, 1913, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Ernest and Daisy (Hollingsworth) Price. Margaret spent most of her life as an educator teaching 1st grade at Longfellow and Cherokee Elementary schools. Margaret retired from Cherokee Elementary in 1975 following 38 years of teaching. In her retirement, Margaret spent many afternoons tutoring nieces and nephews in reading and writing. Margaret was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Kappa Kappa Iota Societies. She worked many years at the Community Food Pantry with her good friend and fellow teacher, Lucille Sarcyski. Margaret was care giver to her parents who lived with her for many years. In her spare time, she loved to fish and travel. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Daisy; sister, Ernestine Price Farley; sister, Katherine Price Smith; and brother, Jay Berlin Price. She is survived by her niece, Jane Swan of Muskogee, OK; nephew, Charles A. Farley, Jr. and wife Terry of Muskogee; niece Patricia E. Hall and husband Steve of Tulsa; niece, Nancy Baumeister and husband Harold of Lawton, OK; great nephew, Brandon Hall and wife Melissa of Tulsa; great niece, Debra Field and husband Dale of Tulsa; great niece, Kristen Harris and husband Ryan of Edmond, OK; great niece, Kelcie Farley of Muskogee; great nephew, Mark Perry of Tulsa; great nephew, Shane Farley and wife Kristie of Muskogee; great-great niece, Railey Field of Tulsa; great-great niece, Kadee Farley of Muskogee; great-great nephew, Graham Harris of Edmond, OK; great-great nephew, Dylan Farley of Muskogee; great-great nephew, Colyn Farley of Muskogee; great-great niece, Kelsie Goetz of Muskogee. Family would like to thank all the caregivers at Country Garden Assisted Living Center where she resided until her illness. Heartfelt thank you is extended to additional care givers for the wonderful care they provided during her illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Muskogee with Ann Brizendine officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
