Mary Nell Miller

Mary Nell Miller, 87, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at her home. She was born March 13, 1936 in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma to Jasper Augusta and Suzie (Ray) Acuff. Mary’s greatest joy and accomplishment in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married Elza “Buck” Miller on March 28, 1979 in Muskogee. They had shared more than 43 years of life, marriage, and memories together when Buck passed away on June 24, 2022. Mary’s passing will leave a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Suzie Acuff; her husband, “Buck” Miller; brothers, Ray Acuff, Lillard Acuff, and Roy Acuff; sisters, Nadine Gibbs and Corrine Didway; son, Teddy Wayne Spradlin; daughter, Donna Pittman; and three grandchildren, Bennie Duane Pittman III, Joe Pittman, and Jesse Pittman. Mary is survived by her children, Mike Spradlin of Oktaha, Darrel Spradlin and wife Sherri of Beggs, James Spradlin and wife Sheila of Warner, Beverly Newton and husband David of Checotah, Glenna Murr and husband Jerry of Wainwright; son-in-law, Bennie Pittman of Oktaha; sister, Ruby Walden of Muskogee; brothers, Lonnie Acuff of Tulsa, Q. L. Acuff of Warner, Bob Acuff of Oklahoma City, and Don Acuff and wife Dorothy of Muskogee; grandchildren, Ashley Rogers, Mark and Mariah Spradlin, Michael Spradlin, Matthew Spradlin, Justin and Kendall Spradlin, Marti and Jake Henry, Sierra Spradlin, and Gage Sparrow, Mia and Nick Boken, John Gates, Jerrod and Jenn Murr, Josh and Jill Murr, Richard and Dayra Newton, Holly and Denny Coldwell; 30 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and other family members. A celebration of Mary’s life will be at 10AM, Friday, November 24, 2023 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Delbert Hawpe officiating. A private interment will be at a later date. Pallbearers will be Austin Spradlin, Troy Boken, Kaleb Spradlin, Michael Boken, Ty Mullen, and Chris Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark, Matthew, Michael, Justin, Josh, Jerrod, Richard, and John.
