Michael Joe Harris

Michael Joe Harris, age 80, of Braggs, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 2, 2026, surrounded in love by his family. Michael was born on December 19, 1945, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Lester and Edna Ruth (Irving) Harris. He attended public schools in Muskogee and was a proud graduate of Muskogee Central High School. On April 11, 1969, Michael married the love of his life, Shelia Yvonne Dotson, in Braggs, Oklahoma. Together, they built a warm and loving home in Braggs, where they raised their family and made countless cherished memories. Michael dedicated many years of his career to Coburn Optical, where he worked as a skilled machinist and NC programmer. He was respected by his colleagues for his work ethic, expertise, and commitment to excellence. Michael was a man of many passions. He found joy in fishing, hunting, gardening, camping, firearms, and reloading ammunition—activities that brought him close to nature and those he loved most. He was also a talented cook, delighting family and friends with his meals. When not outdoors or in the kitchen, Michael enjoyed reading and treasured every moment spent with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ruth Harris; and his brother, Ken Harris. Michael is survived by his loving spouse, Shelia of the home; daughter, Shelley Shoun and husband Chris Seaton of Tulsa; son, Shannon Harris and wife Melissa of Braggs; granddaughters, Marley Seaton, Jasmine Shoun and her fiancé, Robert Aduddell; brother, Tom Harris and wife Saundra; nephews, Travis Harris and wife Fernanda Brown Harris, Kevin Prichard, and Dalton Phillips; nieces, Rachel Irwin and husband Logan and their children, Tinley and Tatum, LaDonna Hartin and Paula Prichard; along with members of the Brewer family and Stuff family. The family will greet friends from 5-7PM, Friday, February 6, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Michael’s life will be celebrated at 11AM, Saturday,, February 7, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Halston Williams officiating. Interment will follow at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs with Kevin Prichard, Dalton Phillips, Chris Seaton, Robert Aduddell, Travis Harris, and Jarrod Ward serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Brewer, Robert Stuff, and JC Dotson.
