Naomi F. Carpenter

On July 16th, 1929 a baby girl was born to Isom and Lillie (Northcut) Morton. She was given the name Naomi Frances but was better known as Sissy. She was welcomed by brother Monroe and they helped welcome brother, Jim and sister, El Dena. Sissy made her heavenly flight on April 23rd, 2022 with her daughters by her side. She spent her early years in the Hitchita Community and graduated from Hitchita High School in 1947. She married her husband, Joe Carpenter on October 7, 1949 in Van Buren, AR. In August of 1950 they welcomed a daughter Brenda and in 1954 another daughter Kathy. Sissy was a homemaker, wife, and mother who loved her family beyond measure! When Joe and Sissy became grandparents they loved their grandchildren more than life. They were always supportive parents and grandparents, hardly ever missing the grands’ events. They would travel many miles to ballgames and stock shows. Joe and Sissy were faithful members of Abundant Life Church where they were founding members. Her life revolved around her church not missing a Sunday service unless it was an emergency. She was a supportive member of Council Hill, baking many pies and cakes for anyone in need. Sissy lived by example always being available to anyone in need. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Monroe and Jim; sister El Dena; grandchildren, Tera Foster, Susan Foster, Steve Schoeppel, Joe Flusche, Moose Ray, and many other family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Flusche and Kathy Ray; grandchildren, Traci Schoeppel, Ronny Ray, Ike Ray, and Michael Ray; great-grandchildren, Austin, Seth, Ikie, Mike, Taylon, Kiera, Gracie, Hayden, and Jayla; great-great-grandchildren, Hensley, Josie, and Rivr; special friends, Loren Swadle and husband Gary, Glenda Shinpoch, Alta Staton, Opal Zook, Mary Jack Collins, and Mary Anson; a host of other family members and friends. Although Sissy has left a big hole in our family we cannot be sad knowing what a homecoming it must have been. A celebration of Sissy’s life will be 2PM, Thursday, April 28th, 2022 at Abundant Life Church in Councill Hill with Mr. Tom Herron officiating. Interment will follow at Council Hill Cemetery with Ronny Ray, Ike Ray, Mike Ray, Austin Ray, Ikie Ray, Mikie Ray and Seth Schoeppel all serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Prentiss Farris, Lawrence McCullah, Melvin Carpenter, Joe Carpenter, Junior Morton, Peggy Smith, and Bob Herron. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Abundance Life Church in Council Hill, Oklahoma.
