Richard Wayne Ford Jr., beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Born on October 11, 1961, in McAlester, Oklahoma, Richard was the cherished son of Richard Wayne Ford Sr. and Billie Sue (Proe) Ford. Raised in Oklahoma, Richard attended public schools and graduated from Checotah High School in 1979. He continued his education at Northeastern State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1984. On April 8, 1988, Richard married Tammy Gayle Bebee in Onapa, Oklahoma. Together, they shared over 38 wonderful years, building a loving family and nurturing a deep partnership. Richard’s career reflected his strong work ethic and commitment. He worked at Fort Howard, now known as Georgia Pacific, and Bacone College. Later, he became a skilled heavy equipment operator in the oil and gas industry, dedicating many years to his profession. He also served the Muskogee County community as a reserve deputy with the Sheriff’s Department for 17 years, demonstrating his devotion to helping others and ensuring public safety. He attended Onapa Baptist Church for most of his life. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, and cherished moments spent with his grandchildren. His passions brought him joy and allowed him to share special times with loved ones. Richard Wayne Ford Jr. will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and community. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will forever be treasured. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Wayne Ford Sr.; and his brother, David Wayne Ford; and his grandparents. Richard is survived by his mother, Billie Sue Ford of Onapa, OK; wife, Tammy Ford of the home; his children, Billie Ruth Williams and husband Jonathan of Scottsville, KY, Richard Ford III of Oktaha, Jessica Russell of Muskogee, OK, and Heather Lonsdale and husband Jimmy of Moore, OK; sister, Dona Lovett and husband Joe of Onapa, OK; grandchildren, Aubrielle Hawke, Todd Williams, Hadley Williams, Ben Ford, Alyssa Lonsdale, Seth Lonsdale, and Emma Lonsdale; along with numerous other family members and friends. Richard’s life will be remembered at 2PM, Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harry Fitzgerald officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Lovett, Colton Lovett, Tyler Lovett, Jeff Davis, Mitch Davis, Jonathan Williams, and Todd Williams.
