Shari Lynn Lewis

Shari Lynn Lewis was born on March 19, 1963 to Wayne Leon Slape and Janice Gail Jones Slape in Muskogee, OK. Shari lived in and loved Muskogee her entire life. She passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2024. Shari’s mother passed away in 1974, and she was then raised by her mom, Sandy Lee Wood. Shari attended Muskogee Public Schools her entire education and graduated a proud Rougher with the class of 1981. Throughout her education, she worked at her grandfather’s grocery store. After graduation, Shari worked for AT&T as a telephone operator until the office was shut down. She became a stay-at-home mom to her beloved children so she could spend as much time with them as possible. After her children got older, Shari cleaned many homes and businesses in the area. Shari was the type of person who never met a stranger. She always had a hug and kind words for every person she met. She had a gentle soul that touched others, and her beautiful smile, like a ray of sunshine, brightened the lives of all who knew her, especially her family. She loved sunflowers and the color yellow, and she was an avid OU football fan who rarely missed a game. Mornings were spent on her porch, drinking coffee. Shari took joy in the small things in life and never missed an opportunity to tell people that she loved them. Family was everything to Shari. Her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were precious to her. She spent any free time she had with her family and was always there when anyone needed her. She is survived by her daughters, Courtney Lewis of Muskogee, Kayleigh Webb and husband Jesse of Muskogee; son, Jack Lewis III and wife Ciara of Muskogee; grandchildren, Nathan Webb, Kevin Webb, Garrett Webb, Addyson Lewis, Hunter Lewis, and Weston Lewis; mother, Sandy Wood of Muskogee; sister, Shelli Jiles and husband Mike of Hulbert; brother, Richard Caldwell and wife Missy of Tahlequah; cousin (like a brother) Andy Caldwell and wife Meagan of Muskogee; nieces and nephews, Trevor Jiles and wife Lane of Muskogee, Allie Jiles of Hulbert, Peyton Caldwell of Oklahoma City, Savannah Caldwell of Stillwater, Addison Caldwell of Stillwater; great-niece and nephew, Carter Jiles and Kincaid Jiles of Muskogee, and many more close friends and cherished family members. Shari is preceded in death by her father, Wayne Slape and mother Janice Slape. Her sudden passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her family and all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed. A celebration of Shari’s life will be at 10AM, Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Timothy Baptist Church with Pastor Kelly Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with Johnny Cooper, Michael Jiles, John Rosson, Richard Caldwell, John Mills, and Andrew Caldwell serving as pallbearers.
