Tamara Sue Flood

Tamara Sue Flood, age 53, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, surrounded in love by her family. She was born May 31, 1973, in Irving, Texas, to Errol Alan and Carolyn Sue (Butler) Skelton. Tamara grew up in Fort Gibson, where she attended public schools and graduated from Fort Gibson High School in 1991. During her school years she found joy in music, playing the clarinet, and proudly serving as a member of the color guard—experiences that gave her lifelong friendships and memories she cherished. In 2001, Tamara graduated from the LPN program at ICTC and went on to serve as a Licensed Practical Nurse for more than 25 years. Her career included nearly two decades with the Veterans Administration, where she cared deeply for the veterans she served. Nursing was not just her profession; it was her calling, and she approached every day with compassion, dedication, and a heart for helping others. Tamara loved life in a way that was both gentle and spirited. She treasured going to concerts with her sister and cheering at OU football games with her brother. Weekend trips with her family were some of her happiest moments—simple adventures filled with laughter, coffee, and togetherness. She was a devoted Gigi who adored her grandbabies and made sure they always felt loved, celebrated, and safe. An avid animal lover, Tamara had a special affection for sea turtles and otters. She was also a huge coffee enthusiast—especially 7 Brew—and never passed up a chance to shop, explore, or enjoy the little joys of everyday life. Tamara’s warmth, humor, and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her love for her family, and the way she made every person feel valued. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she brightened, the family she loved fiercely, and the memories she leaves behind. She was preceded in death by her parents, Errol and Carolyn Skelton; grandad, Don Butler Jr; nana, Margaret Butler; and granny, Jean Bates. Tamara is survived by her husband Todd Flood of Bartlesville; daughter, Laney Shaver and husband Kasey of Warner; grandchildren, LJ and Sophia; nephew, Zack Cook and wife Jordan of Westville; brothers, Don Skelton of Muskogee, Chris Skelton and wife Tamra of Collinsville; sister, Brandi Acorn and husband Ken of Watts; along with countless cousins and extended family members. The family will receive friends from 4-7PM, Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Tamara’s life will be celebrated at 11AM, Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Warner First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Josh McElyea officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Kasey Shaver, Zack Cook, Jason Dillard, Jeremy Oman, Tracy Underwood, and Jimmy Pitman Jr. serving as pallbearers.
