Virginia Faye "Jenny" Breedlove Smith

Virginia Faye “Jenny” Breedlove Smith was born January 21, 1951 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Vester and Juanita (Blevins) Breedlove. Jenny attended Eufaula High School until she decided to quit in 1967 to marry Randall H. Smith. She and Randall had one son, Gregory Wade Smith. Jenny married Samuel Thomas in 1970 and together they had a son, Stephen Duane Thomas. In 1972, another son, Jamie Knight was born. Upon the dissolution of this marriage, she married Donald Edward Priest and in 1974 a beautiful baby girl, Dena Kay Priest was born. 1988 would be the year she met and married Christopher A. Smith and celebrated 37 years together. Chris brought into the family another baby girl, Malena. During her time as a single mother, she attended OSU-Okmulgee, receiving an associate’s degree. Jenny worked numerous jobs during her life, store clerk at Sellers Drug, seamstress at Eufaula Sewing Factory, Deputy County Clerk for McIntosh County, clerk for McIntosh and Muskogee County Health Departments. She took the Civil Service exam and went to work for the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office of Muskogee in 1990. In 2012, Jenny retired from the VA after 22 years of service and reaching the level of Section Chief. Jenny enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Dena, made sure her mother got to see and do many of her bucket items such as going to South Padre, taking her on her first cruise which led to 4 more, a trip to Destin, Florida, float trips down the Illinois, and an unforgettable night attending an Andrea Bocelli concert. Numerous camping trips were enjoyed, the best of which the entire family attended. Jenny is survived by her husband, Chris, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; 5 children, sons, Greg and Kellie Smith of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Stephen Thomas and Angie Smelcer of Hulbert, Oklahoma, Jamie and Carrie Knight of Muskogee, Oklahoma; daughter, Dena and Mark Schultz of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and daughter, Malena and Kip Whitt of Turney, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, Alyssa and Jon Gaertner, Montana and Hunter Harrison, Zachary Killingsworth, Sarah Schultz and Courtney Stevens, Hayley and Jacob Yell, Destiny and Perry Akers, Bailey, Mia, Malley, Kabe, Marvey, Logan, Landan and Kelsi Knight, Piper; and Keyton Schultz; 10 great-grandchildren, Rebeccah, Hudson, Sutton, Camdan, Brynlee Grace, Hadlee, Amara, Briar, Rhyann, and Rowdy; sister, Kay and husband Tom Craig of Muskogee; brother, Gary Breedlove of Muskogee, Oklahoma; nephews, Ryan Baker and wife Kim, Josh, Mary Ellen and Tate, Taylor Baker of Mustang, Oklahoma, Jeff, Clint, and Michael Breedlove; along with two fur babies, Nya Mae and Sierra Mae. Jenny’s life will be celebrated at 2PM, Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Donnie Sawyer officiating.
