William "Bill" O. Goodwin Jr.

William “Bill” O. Goodwin Jr, 68, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023. He was born August 15, 1954 in Belleville, Illinois, the first of eight children born to William O. Goodwin Sr and Loretta Irene (Pflasterer) Goodwin. Because of his father’s Air Force career, Bill attended schools in Alaska, Arizona, California, Illinois, and finished in Bedford, Massachusetts; graduating in 1972. After graduating, Bill moved with his family to Muskogee, Oklahoma. In Muskogee he met and fell in love with Janine Crossno. They were married on April 4, 1975 in Norwood, OK. From this union three beloved daughters were born. He attended Indian Capital Vo-Tech obtaining certification in cabinet making, small engine repair, accounting and drafting. Bill loved to scuba dive, photography, golf, fishing and hunting. He loved to catch wildlife on his game cameras, sometimes having 20 cameras set up at his father-in-law’s land. He had many pictures of deer, bobcats and a bear. Bill attended Lawrence Street Baptist church for 42 years where he faithfully attended and served. He was a deacon, Sunday school director, Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and ran sound. Bill was very involved in his daughters' lives from elementary through high school. He attended every activity, band and choir trip as a sponsor; video taping everything. He worked for 43 years for Holloway, Updike and Bellen Engineering where he began as a draftsman working his way to manager of Holloway Blueprint. He retired in December of 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Loretta Goodwin; brothers, Kenny, Terry and Gary; nephew, Jacob Roberts; brother-in-law, Kevin Ellis; father and mother-in-law, J. P. and Laura Crossno. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Janine of the home; daughters, Lorie Fennel and husband Larry, Billie Goodwin, Gennifer Stephenson and husband Tim; granddaughter, Lily Fennel; grandson, Liam Fennel, all of Muskogee; brother, Bert Goodwin; sisters, Edna Ellis, Patty Roberts and husband Jeremy, and Debbie Goodwin, all of Muskogee; niece, Crystal Ellis; nephews, Tim Ellis both of Muskogee, George Goodwin of Broken Arrow; along with other family members and many friends. Bill’s family will receive friends from 5-7PM, Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel. Bill’s life will be celebrated at 10AM, Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie Echols officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Bert Goodwin, Larry Fennel, Liam Fennel, Tim Stephenson, Tim Ellis and George Goodwin serving as pallbearers.
